My Gold Wing GL1000 parked at the Comfort Inn in Wytheville, VA.

This is the house I grew up on in Jacksonville, the whole neighborhood had much less vegetation in the 60's and I swear that yard was 3-times bigger. |

My best friend John M. from second grade to post high school lived down the street in this house. His parents Gene and Lois were like a second set of parents to me.
|

In 1956 I entered first grade at Wesconnett Elementary School. The incoming 1st grade class was so large we went half days. This happen again in 10th grade, we only had 4 classes period per day. I meet my other best friend Roger K in 1st grade. |

A new school Timuquana Elementary opened in 1957 where I attended 2nd to 6th grade. This is when I meet John M, his mother was my Cub Scout Den Mother. |

On Thursday October 21 I went to the Biketoberfest 2004 in Daytona Beach. Here I'm parked in front of the Daytona International Speedway. |

Traveling south on A1A from Daytona Beach I went as far as I could go and pulled into this beach ramp in Ponce Inlet. Some bikers had drove out on the beach itself but I stayed on the ramp. A couple who also stopped on the ramp took this picture for me after I used their camera to take their picture for them. Note the sign. |

I stopped at the Miller's Custom Parts vendor area on U.S. 1; Leather, Jewery, Cold Beer, or T-shirts; nice looking ladies too!
|

|
Next to Miller's was this Boss Hog dealer who had two display machines without the sheet metal installed. A 2-wheel version on the left.

A trike above, note the gas tank in the rear.
|

On the way to the Kennedy Space Center I came across this lake where the water level was still so high that the deck of this boat dock was underwater. Note the handrail, between the third and fourth pillar from the left, used to climb in and out of boats. |

New Smyrna Harley-Davidson had a party going on. Besides the H-D dealer a lounge with a souvenir store is located next door in the party area.
|

I've never seen an handicap license plate on a bike, Tennessee plates. Maybe this means 'bike must be trailered to any event', it is a Harley. |

I took my own picture in the bike welcome area. |

Dodging tour buses and cars I got this picture. |

On my way to Key West, 62 mph at 4000 rpm's. |

Pictures of the sunrise were taken about 10-15 seconds apart.

From the pier looking west. |

Looking south. |

Looking back at the beach. The old man's walker is next to the steps leading to the water. There is no hand rails along the pier, strange.
|

Jelly Fish! |

Breakfast is Served! |

Another shot of the pier from the beach. |

Ernest's Tavern next to Ernest Hemingway's house, this is were you got your tickets and a drink while you waited for your tour. |

U.S. 1 Mile Marker '0' in Key West, Fla. |

7-Mile Bridge between Sunshine Key amd Marathon. |

Looking east from one of the bridges.
|

Looking west, it was beautiful with various shades of blue and green water. |

Burning off sugar cane fields, natures candy, I should have stopped and cut some to bring home. |

Sugar cane in the field and processing plant in the background.
|

Damaged trees and other material from the hurricanes are piled along the roads waiting to be hauled away. I saw a few houses and trailers uninhabitable now and again. |

Riding north on U.S. 441 traveling on the east side of Lake Ockeechobee. A berm is constructed along the entire lake where I traveled. |

Spillways to control the water level were located every few miles.
|

Recreational areas and boat ramps were located at these spillways. The horizon was the other side of the lake, over 25 miles across. |

In northern Virginia I came across fields of cotton. I stopped and picked an open cotton seed pod and some cotton laying on the ground. The fiber blows off the seed pods and looks like left over snow in the morning before the sun melts it. |

I got on to U.S. 13, the Military Highway in Norfolk too soon and got stuck in a bridge opening. U.S. 13 was nothing but stop and go traffic except for the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel & Bridge. |

After paying $12.00 toll on the bridge. |

Entering the first tunnel, missed the gift shop turn off. |

The tunnels provide channels for ships to pass thru.
|

Cool and damp outside but these guys are still fishing along the tunnel entrances. |

Parked at the second tunnel entrance going north.
|

The bridges are two lanes north and south bound but come together at the tunnels which are two lane, one lane each direction. My picture in the tunnel is too blurry to show. |
